Welcome to Romsey Online

Romsey is located sixty-five kilometres north of Melbourne, Victoria (Australia) in the Shire of Macedon Ranges, and eight kilometres south of Lancefield. Adjacent to Five Mile Creek, Romsey covers an area of about 7.5 square kilometres

Romsey was named (it is believed) after a town of the same name in England. Its historic red brick buildings line a spacious main street giving it an English village feel. Surrounding fertile countryside is ideal for cattle and Replica Tag Heuer SLR sheep grazing and other agricultural pursuits such as potato growing. Today Romsey has a high commuter population due to its proximity to Melbourne.

Between 2001 and 2006, the population increased by 14%. By 2011 the population was 4419.  A large proportion of the population is comprised of families with children, and this is reflected in the youthful age profile (aged under 18 years) and larger households (38% with four or more persons).

Geographical area: 7.5 square kilometres
